Detailed Description

This signature blend is the culmination of a lifetime of work for Cedar Ridge Founder and Master Distiller Jeff Quint, and his son, Head Distiller Murphy Quint.

First, the Quints use only a single strain of two-row malted barley prepared exclusively for Cedar Ridge at the Prairie Malt plant. Once the grain arrives on site, the Quint’s painstakingly control every step of the process – from milling, mashing, fermenting and double-distilling, to the unique barrel aging process, right through the final bottling.

As the Quints prepare the first bottling of their signature blend, they sense their timing couldn’t be better. While the work requires meticulous attention to detail, the Quint’s have found the process of making single malt to be liberating. And with a flavor that’s perfectly rich and complex, this artistry is evident in every sip of The QuintEssential American Single Malt Whiskey from Cedar Ridge.

Nose: Aromas of spiced mocha, gingerbread, fudge & coconut.

Palate: Round, bright, light to medium body with notes of banana pancakes, caramel cremes and rum rasin cake.

Finish: Smooth, relaxed finish.

Distillery Information

Nestled in a picturesque stretch of the Heartlands, just outside the town of Swisher in Eastern Iowa, sits Cedar Ridge Vineyards, Winery, and Distillery. Family-owned by Jeff and Laurie Quint, Jeff serves as both Master Distiller and Master Winemaker at the small operation, which has an outsized reputation for quality. Cedar Ridge — the first micro-distillery in the state — began distilling vodka back in 2005 before moving onto fruit liqueurs and, eventually, bourbon, crafting Iowa’s first bourbon whiskey since Prohibition.
