Detailed Description
The Woodford Reserve Master’s Collection Sonoma-Cutrer Pinot Noir Finish process starts with a batch of cask-strength, mature (7 Years) Woodford Reserve bourbon and dump it straight into freshly emptied pinot noir barrels from one of California’s most regarded wineries, Sonoma-Cutrer. It is aged a further 10 months in the wine barrels before bottling at 90.4 proof. This is the second collaboration with Sonoma-Cutrer; Woodford released a Chardonnay Finish in 2007.
Woodford Reserve Master’s Collection Sonoma-Cutrer Finish Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes
Nose: Elegant, restrained red fruit opens it up, soon joined by classic Woodford Reserve notes of vanilla cream, baking spice and leather.
Palate: Oodles of Black Forest gâteau, almond butter, dark chocolate and raspberry notes here. Warming oak catches up on the mid-palate.
Finish: More resinous oak and red berries. Quite drying and long.
