Detailed Description
Electric Owl is a 9 year-old sour mash bourbon produced in a limited release from Virgil Kaine with only 3000 bottles produced. This is a collaboration with Revelry Brewing with the barrels used to finish aging Electric Owl previously used for aging Revelry’s Wild American Ale. The ale barrels had been previously used to age Oregon Pinot Noir. Bottled at 50.05% ABV.

Nose: The nose showcases the barrels’ circuitous route to this whiskey, with berries and herbaceousness, along with vanilla and oak.
Palate: The palate is spicy, with cloves and nutmeg, menthol, and tannic oak, along with honey and a range of fruits, including apples and dried apricots.
Finish: The fruity-sweet finish is moderate in length and balanced with black pepper and more spicy oak.
Distillery Information
Virgil Kaine was founded by successful chef duo David Szlam and Ryan Meany in 2013. Szlam trained under award-winning Chef Daniel Humm now at Eleven Madison Park, while Meany helped launch the Charleston’s Husk restaurant.
