Detailed Description
Expanding on an already great single malt, the bourbon barrel whiskey was finished in a fresh Town Branch Bourbon barrel, adding a rich buttery caramel layer and more texture onto what already was a silky smooth malt. The 2nd, aged in an Oloroso Sherry cask for over 10 years, is incredibly deep and rich with dark fruits, cocoa, and light citrus.
Town Branch Straight from the Cask Double Cask by Barrel and Bottle Tasting Notes
Nose: Sweet butter, maple – certainly from the fresh bourbon barrel finish, corn flakes, touch of fresh hay.
Palate: Caramel, raw honey, soft oak, burnt molasses, a slight citrus sweetness, juicy fruit gum. Water nicely blends the flavors and brings up the honey and light toffy.
Finish: More molasses, very slight pepper on the end of a lingering finish. Gentle burn, would never know is 54.5% ABV
