Detailed Description
This 16-year-old single malt is crafted with Spanish Rioja wine seasoned casks (a distillery first!) and first fill bourbon casks. Twisted Tattoo takes its name from the unique design that adorns the bottle. Inspired by the Viking legend of the Midgard Serpent that grew so large it twisted around the earth to bite its own tail, the design was created by Danish tattoo artist Colin Dale and reflects the Norse heritage of ‘The Orkney Malt with Viking Soul’.

Nose: Heather honey and sweet peat with raisins.
Palate: Sweet vanilla and a rich Rioja influence atop Highland Park’s characteristic aromatic peat.

Distillery Information
Highland Park, one of only two distilleries in the Orkney Isles, is the world’s most northerly whisky distillery. It was founded in 1798 by Magnus Euson. Until it was licensed in 1825 its production was illicit and Euson was assisted in evading the excisemen by a kinsman who was a Kirk elder and hid the contraband under the pulpit. By the 1880s Highland Park had an established reputation and at one time both the King of Denmark and the Emperor of Russia declared it to be the finest whisky they had ever tasted.
