Handcrafted in small batches, Balcones Texas Single Malt Whisky is made from 100% malted Golden Promise barley. Golden Promise is an early-maturing spring barley that has a depth of flavor ideal for single malts. While it was popular in Scotland for many years.
Balcones Texas Rum Tasting Notes
Nose: Rock candy on the nose, pancake syrup, tanned leather, violets, burnt marshmallow, under ripe cantaloupe, saltwater taffy, prune, menthol, hoisin, and roasted nuts.
Palate: The palate is lush and coating with cacao nibs, hazelnut syrup, char, tart cherry skins, burnt toast, and caramel.
Finish: The finish is medium length with layers of raw sugar, fruit skins, candied beets, char, tawny port reduction and abundant tannins.
