Detailed Description
Named in honor of one of the world’s first cultivated grains, Hordeum (aka wild barley grass). This straight malt whiskey is distilled from a mashbill of 99% Colorado-grown malted barley with a splash of rye. Aged at least two years in full sized charred 53-gallon new, American oak. Bottled at 85 proof.

Nose: Opens with bright apple blossom and honey on the nose with notes of toated hazelnuts.
Palate: Black tea and green apple on the front of the palate, changing to cinnamon sugar cookies and malted nuts.
Finish: Finishing with seagrass and sweet tobacco.

It’s here where Al Douglas Laws, founder and creative visionalry behind Laws Whiskey House, takes an obsessive, hands-on approach to every aspect of whiskey production as he mills the grains, combines them and cooks them to create an incredibly complex sour mash.
