This is the third release from Wolfburn’s Kylver Series – each one features a different from from the runic alphabet found on the Kylver stone (one of the earliest forms of alphabet discovered). Emblazoned upon this bottling is the rune meaning thurs, which meant “thorn” to some, while to others it meant “giant”. Wolfburn Kylver Series Release 3 Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes
Nose: Creating aromas of vanilla, angelica root, waxy fruit and charred oak on the nose.
Palate: The palate offers notes of crunchy brown sugar, fried bananas, oily walnut and a hint of something smoky.
Finish: Quite long and spicy, with cinnamon and nutmeg lingering on the finish.
Distillery Information
Wolfburn distillery is a Scotch whisky distillery in Thurso, Caithness, Scotland. After ceasing production in the 1850s it reopened in 2013. Wolfburn distillery was founded just to the west of the town of Thurso Caithness in 1821 by William Smith.
