Detailed Description
Wolfburn (of Thurso) has recently wrested the title of Scotland’s most northerly mainland distillery from Old Pulteney (the Wick-based maritime malt masters). Having only gained approval for the new distillery (which lies a short distance from the old one, but draws its water from the same “Wolf Burn”) in 2012, the owners managed to produce the first spirit in early 2013. This expression was selected and presented by the Thompson Brothers to mark the 18th anniversary of Dornoch castle whisky bar. It was distilled in late 2014 and laid to mature in a single bourbon cask for a little over three years before being bottled free from chill filtration and artificial colouring.
