This American whiskey is the younger sibling of Redemption Rye Whiskey. It’s made from a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% corn and aged for 2 years in charred, new American oak barrels, and it scored 90 points in 2012 from the Beverage Testing Institute.

Nose: For a young whiskey, there aren’t unpleasant aromas, but there is a surprisingly large amount of dried herbs and five spice powder.
Palate: That is something to expect in a gin, but not necessarily in a rye. There is a nice sweetness here, but not enough of a rough and dark quality most ryes typically bring.
Finish: Long and rich.
Distillery Information
Bardstown Barrel Selections, the parent company of Redemption, was founded by bourbon industry veterans Michael Kanbar and Dave Schmier.
