Detailed Description
The abomination rears its head once again. Here’s the second release in Lost Spirits’ Abomination series. It’s similar to the first release in that it’s a heavily-peated malt spirit aged initially in used bourbon casks for 12 to 18 months, but after that it was aged in the reactor at the Lost Spirits laboratory along with charred American oak seasoned with late harvest Riesling (Chapter 1 featured toasted American oak).

Nose: It displays similar aromas of vegetal peat and sauerkraut. A big whiff of cinnamon and also smoked peppers, followed by licorice, cocoa powder and burnt coffee.
Palate: Very savoury. Smoky barbecue notes accompanied by a hit of pepper and peat smoke, with iodine also making an appearance. Finally a whisper of strong, dark coffee.
Finish: Coffee, before returning to iodine and peat. Long.

Lost Spirits is a celebrated Los Angeles based distillery producing whiskey and rum. The distillery is famous for both its innovative production processes, and immersive distillery experience. It was described in 2019 by Smithsonian Magazine as “a high-end Willy Wonka experience for adults.”
