Much like beauty is in the eye of the beholder, at Templeton Rye, we believe taste depends on the taster. So while we focus our attention on making a consistently superior rye whiskey, we prefer to let you determine what flavors you detect in our product. Rather than being sly, however, we thought we’d share some of the descriptors others have mentioned that you may notice yourself.
Templeton 4 Year Old The Good Stuff Rye Whiskey Tasting Notes
Nose: Dry, grassy, Christmas spice
Palate: Hint of caramel, butterscotch, toffee, and allspice
Finish: Wonderful balance, clean and silky smooth
Distillery Information
Templeton Rye refers to rye whiskey originally made in Templeton, Iowa during the prohibition era as a way for farmers in the Carroll County area to supplement their income. Amber in color, it was considered to be of particularly high quality and was popular in Chicago, Omaha, and Kansas City speakeasies.
