Kanya is named after the Indian counterpart to the Zodiac sign Virgo. People born under Kanya are believed to be patient, precise and observant. A particularly flavoursome Indian single malt from the Paul John range. Kanya is an unpeated expression that has been aged in first-fill American white oak casks and bottled at 50% ABV. Only 1,500 bottles were produced.
Paul John Kanya Whiskey Tasting Notes
Nose: Peaches in syrup, almond liqueur and a touch of fresh papaya. Creamy vanilla.
Palate: Butterscotch, dried apple chips, waves of honey, freshly-cooked waffles coated in butter.
Finish: Lightly spiced, though notes of maple syrup and apricot remain.
Distillery Information
John Distilleries was founded by Paul John in 1992, when they began producing a number of spirits, including Indian molasses ‘whisky’. One of their most well-known products, Original Choice, continues to be extremely popular to this day, selling 10 million cases annually.
