This single malt comes presented in a limited-edition black bottle, and comes with a book containing 160 pages of photographs and narrative by Soren Solker of Highland Park, capturing what sets it apart from other distilleries and charting his 26-year career in photography. Søren Solkær’s distinctive work, particularly in portraiture, has earned him a global reputation. In 2016, they commissioned Søren to capture their distillery team at work, to record the whisky-making traditions they have followed for over 220 years and to reflect the stark beauty of the Orcadian landscape that is their home.

Nose: The aromas are ripe with vanilla, rancio, baking spices, and sultanas.

Palate: The palate is luscious and lightly sweet with notes of mulled wine, Highland florals, cardamom, and a dash of peat in the background.

Finish: The finish is long and warm with a hint of smoke.

Distillery Information

Highland Park, one of only two distilleries in the Orkney Isles, is the world’s most northerly whisky distillery. It was founded in 1798 by Magnus Euson. Until it was licensed in 1825 its production was illicit and Euson was assisted in evading the excisemen by a kinsman who was a Kirk elder and hid the contraband under the pulpit. By the 1880s Highland Park had an established reputation and at one time both the King of Denmark and the Emperor of Russia declared it to be the finest whisky they had ever tasted.
