Detailed Description
Barrell Bourbon Batch 003 is a Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey distilled from a mash bill of 70% corn, 25% rye, and 5% malted barley. It’s bottled at a cask strength of 61% ABV after aging 5 years in new, charred American oak.
Barrell Bourbon Batch 003 Whiskey Tasting Notes
Nose: Freshly cut pipe tobacco, smoldering cedar wood fire, stone fruits and salted caramel.
Palate: Concentrated and sultry across the tongue, Long cooked quince reveals itself along with fresh lemon curd.
Finish: Cedar plank fire and caramelized black walnuts give way to a many minute long, deeply unctuous burn.
Distillery Information
Founded in 2014, Barrell Craft Spirits scoops up extra casks of premium Bourbon and Rye and bottles ‘em up at full strength. Each batch is completely different. Sometimes the coolest casks on the market are Tennessee-style Whiskeys, sometimes they’re Kentucky Bourbon. The good stuff could be straight, or it could be a finished wood. The point is that they find the best odd lots and “left-overs” that would more likely be tossed into a generic blend and sell it to us in all of their glory.
