Zanj is the Creole word for Angel. Ak Zanj means “”With Angels,”” a reference to the Angel’s Share, the spirit stolen by thirsty angels each year – The more they drink, the more mature and complex the rum. This rum is aged in a French oak ex-cognac casks for 8 years.
