Disproving the bias, here is Bache-Gabrielsen’s Cognac finished for at least 6 months in first-fill Tennessee oak barrels. The original brandy was mostly sourced from the Fins Bois region and made of exclusively the ugni blanc grape (typical in the region.)

Nose: Aromas of ripe apricot, pear, and vanilla.

Palate: It has a certain character thanks to the American oak, with light tropical flavours of coconut, caramel, and chocolate on the palate.

Finish: Smooth finish.

Bache-Gabrielsen distillery is located in an old, almost antiquated premise in the center of Cognac. Norwegian Thomas Bache-Gabrielsen followed love to France, and then decided to make Cognac, founding the Cognac House of Bache-Gabrielsen in 1905.
