Detailed Description
A cracking malt from a great, but criminally underexposed distillery, Mortlach has a rich, complex, spicy sherried character and deserves far wider recognition. This looks set to change, with owners Diageo now pushing Mortlach into the spotlight with some new bottlings.

Nose: Aroma is very pleasant.
Palate: Sweet, smooth and with a real oak flavour.
Finish: Medium length & Spicy.

Mortlach distillery is a distiller of Scotch whisky in Dufftown, Moray, Scotland. Founded in 1823, the distillery is currently owned by Diageo. The whisky is a key component in several Johnnie Walker bottlings., while Diageo also markets four Mortlach single malts. The still pictured above is Dufftown distillery.
