It is aged at least 1 year in new charred American oak before being bottled at 92 proof.
Redemption Pre-Prohibition Rye Revival High Rye Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes
Nose: Easily the most aromatic of the bunch: sticky-bun sweetness, toast and dried figs.
Palate: Syrupy, the pancake syrup that didn’t come from a tree, vegetal notes on the mid-palate and cacao nibs further back.
Finish: A long, rich finish.
Distillery Information
Bardstown Barrel Selections, the parent company of Redemption, was founded by bourbon industry veterans Michael Kanbar and Dave Schmier.
“Six years ago they entered the spirits business after almost three decades as a wine company, and they have been very selective about what brands they brought into their portfolio. The addition of Redemption provides a high-quality entry into the most dynamic segment of the spirits business: American Whiskey,” Peter Deutsch, CEO of Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits, said in a press release. “The premium and ultra-premium segments within the whiskey category remind me a lot of premium wine, with consumers being open to experiment, focused more on quality than slick marketing and interested in learning more about the product itself.”
