A rare 50 Year Old Balvenie distilled in 1962 & released in 2012. Drawn from cask 5576, an ex-Sherry hoghead made from European oak, this whisky has been bottled at a cask strength of 44.1% ABV.
Balvenie 50 year old Release 2012 Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Note
Nose: Fragrant and floral with fruit and oak lusciously intermingled. Citrus notes of lemons and orange peel are followed by honey and vanilla and finally a gentle hint of cinnamon and subtle oak.
Palate: Its taste is velvety sweet and wonderfully soft, fruit and citrus notes are accompanied by a beautiful outburst of cinnamon and nutmeg and a subtle back note of honey, all balanced with oak.
Finish: The finish is velvety smooth with a delicious citrus sweetness.
