Detailed Description
Distilled in March 2009 at the excellent Glenturret, this little beauty was bottled at 57.1% ABV in September 2017 for the North Star Spirits range. It was charged from a refill bourbon hogshead after 8 years maturation, and there’s an outturn 330 bottles, at a very reasonable price.
North Star Glenturret 8 Year Old Whiskey Tasting Notes.
Nose: Forest floor earthy notes and bright peels.
Palate: Peanut brittle, blueberry muffins and buttery pancakes.
Finish: A touch of grain sweetness, balanced by softly smoky spice.
Distillery Information
The Glenturret Distillery is located on the banks of the Turret River two miles north west of Crieff in Perthshire, Scotland. The distillery is hidden in the glen and its secluded location may have contributed to its early history as the site of several illicit bothy stills
