It’s the Mortlach entry in the Diageo Special Releases 2020, a 26-year-old whisky finished in sherry casks, giving it the rich, layers of dried fruit that you’d expect, without overpowering the distillery’s character.

Nose: Very clean and appetising, with a gentle floral character.
Palate: Lovely, mild on the tongue with a slight burn at the end.

Mortlach distillery is a distiller of Scotch whisky in Dufftown, Moray, Scotland. Founded in 1823, the distillery is currently owned by Diageo. The whisky is a key component in several Johnnie Walker bottlings., while Diageo also markets four Mortlach single malts. The still pictured above is Dufftown distillery.
