Detailed Description
Orkney’s only rum distillery, VS Distillers, named this bottle of pot still rum Fading Light after what is known locally as the grimleens, which is the eerie dusk that has inspired many tales of ghosts and spirits on the Scottish island. This is an interesting edition of J. Gow rum, as it was matured in chestnut casks. Chestnut was chosen because it is more porous than oak, which means that the rum matures quicker. This is useful in a cold climate such as Orkney, where you’d usually expect a slow maturation process. J. Gow Fading Light Rum was bottled at 43% ABV without any additional sugar or colouring.
