Detailed Description
Maestro de Ron is a tribute to the master blenders of Bacardí over the generations, beginning when the distillery was located in Cuba. This rum was created by current Master Blender Manuel Jorge Cutillas and other rum “maestros” using a double-aging process: Rums aged at least a year are blended together, then married for an additional 3 months in white oak and filtered for clarity. Note: An illustration on the label depicts a biplane flying over a tropical landscape, as an homage to the Prohibition when Bacardí invited Americans to come drink rum legally in Cuba.
Bacardi Maestro de Ron Gran Reserva Rum Tasting Notes
Nose: The nose of this spirit — not quite white but rather the palest shade of gold — strikes familiar white rum chords. Hefty vanilla notes with a modest touch of fuel-like character give it that unmistakable Bacardi aroma.
Palate: On the palate, the vanilla is backed up with more traditional white rum notes, including ripe banana, pencil shavings, coconut husk, and a touch of cinnamon — for the most part they are all flavors that would play nicely in tropical cocktails.
Finish: Hard to get past that alcoholic punch on its own.
